VITUSA > Animal Nutrition > Mold Inhibition

Vituprop™ is the trade name for our specialized line of propionic acid based mold inhibitors and has become the industry standard for grain and feed preservation.

Propionic acid is the most effective and economical acid used to control mold growth in grains and compound feeds. With its anti-microbial action, propionic acid acts on harmful gram-negative organisms.

Because the pK of propionic acid is relatively high, it is particularly effective in pH ranges of 5.5 to 7.0 which are typical of feedstuffs.

Vituprop™ products are available in both liquid and dry formulations and can be custom blended with other organic acids, such as formic acid, to act synergistically to control even the most challenging storage and production situations and provide optimal solutions.

Benefits of Vituprop™

  • Grain and Feed Preservation
  • Prevention of Mycotoxin Formation
  • Improved Daily Gains
  • Improved Feed Conversion
  • Improved Palatability of Feed
  • Improved Flowability of Feed
