VITUSA > Animal Nutrition > Anticoccidal Blends Coccidiosis is caused by parasites from the protozoan group Eimeria which are present in all avian species and are genus specific. The life cycle of these organisms occurs in two phases and in different environments: internal and external of the host. During the external phase, the oocystos Eimeria organisms are very difficult to control and are very infeccious to the host. Once ingested into the host cells, the organisms begin to multiply. It is during this phase that the parasites are vulnerable and can be treated by a variety of anti-coccidial substances. Generally, the degree of coccidial infection on the farm is easy to determine by means of a simple analysis and recount of the oocystos organisms in the birdÍs feces. The general safety threshold is maxumim 50M oocystos per gram of estiercol in the bird. The pharmaceutical industry continues to develop products that are more compatible with the demands of livestock operations and the prevention of this disease.
Our line of anticoccidial blends incorporates the latest scientific technology in the fight against coccidiosis and guarantees the following to the producer:
